Inspiration for the Wedding // They chose to go with a vintage inspired theme with a touch of DIY. Many of the decorations were hand made and anything store bought reflected the vintage feel. They wanted the details to be simple so the focus fell on the real reason for the wedding; they went into the whole thing with the mentality that you have a wedding to get married and there is no point getting lost in the small details of the day.
Advice to Future Brides // Don`t get lost in the infinite details! The small things can quickly consume time and energy while creating an overload of stress.
Suggestions on scheduling the day // “first-look”, ceremony, and party! In setting the big day up that way, they were able to avoid the nerves and anxiety surrounding the ceremony. Spending some time for pictures before the ceremony gave them some quiet time together to “ooh” and “ahh” over each other without being surrounded by the madness of guests and a pressing schedule.
Special Touches // The bride’s gown was custom made by a clothing designer friend. The designer put time and effort into creating a wonderful gown that fully captured the personality and style of the bride. Cookie bar of home-made family favorites.
Best part of the day // One of the best parts of the day was the realization that regardless of what happens, the wedding was set to go through. No more details to be dealt with or decided on because anything that wasn’t done by that morning wasn’t going to be done. Another best part of the day was the moment when the bride stepped out of the clubhouse onto the patio and made eye contact with the man who was about to be her husband. All the nerves disappeared and everyone faded into the background and it was just the two left gazing into each others eyes.
