Bookings

All you need to do is fill out the consultation form, fire me an e-mail or give me a call (403-837-4614) to set up a time to meet - at the meeting we will discuss what you are looking for exactly (hours of coverage, location of your wedding, specifics on formal photos & locations, the style of your wedding & any other questions you might have for me). After the contract is filled out I require a %50 retainer to reserve your day.
To reserve your wedding date Sarah requires 50% of your collection as a retainer payment along with your signed contract. The final 50% is due 16 days before your wedding at your final meeting or on a post-dated check.
Depending on the details of your wedding it is suggested to book as soon as you have set the date & know the amount of coverage you will need (on average couples book Sarah approximately a year prior to their wedding date). Due to the nature of the wedding season Sarah books on a first come first booking basis. Although Sarah would love to shoot your wedding she can't guarantee your day unless the retainer has been received.

Payment & package add ons

Sarah accepts cash, cheque & e-mail money transfer. If a cheque is provided there will be a holding period and no material will be given out until the check has been cleared. *All bounced checks are subject to a $50 fee*
A 50% retainer is required to hold your scheduled date and time, this is non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are unable to show up or cancel your session, your retainer is forfeited.
Sarah loves to get to know her couples on a personal level. Show her how you share your love to your fiancé and she will be able to capture it seamlessly on your wedding day. Beyond awesome photos you will get the experience of what it's like to be photographed by Sarah. Not photogenic? This is the perfect opportunity to show Sarah the photos you love from your engagement session so she can understand your wants better on the big day.
Sarah has an open air photo booth you can add to any collection for an additional investment.
An open air photo booth means you can get more guests into the images. Sarah provides the backdrop (including an independent stand to hold up the backdrop) to complement your wedding style and colours as well as a full set of props, an attendant to show your guests how to use the booth or to simply press the shutter for those guests who need to use both their hands - lighting is also provided. After your wedding your provided with an online password protected gallery for all of your guests to download the images from. Best wedding favor ever! It is suggested you add the link and password on your place settings during your reception.

She is constantly seeking out different locations to complement your unique style and preference. Sarah also has a Boudoir studio located in Calgary, AB.

Yes!! I love to travel. I have been all over the world! Feel free to inquire on the specifics of international/destination wedding investment.
I love to do destination sessions & weddings. If you want to split the travel cost with another couple that is totally fine! Make arrangements with the couple and then contact me to arrange the scheduling of your sessions/weddings.

Engagement Sessions

I love to do destination sessions. If you want to split the travel cost with another couple that is totally fine! Make arrangements with the couple and then contact me to arrange the scheduling of your sessions.
Sarah completely understands you might have already done an engagement session and not to keen on doing another. Sarah is passionate about the importance of getting to know you and your fiance as a couple. She takes the time during your session to observe how you act with your fiance. How you two show love and what you think is funny and not funny she uses this experience to provoke real emotion on your wedding day that isn't forced or awkward. If she doesn't know how to get you feeling comfortable than your wedding day wont be as an amazing experience that she wants it to be for you both.
I suggest to do your engagement session around three months before your wedding date. Most couples purchase guest books with their engagement photos - doing your session three months in advance allows enough time for album creation as well as keeping the experience fresh in your mind for your wedding day.

Personal Items

You know it! Sarah wants you to incorporate thing you love into your images. If you have an idea feel free to tell her all about it!

Prints & Albums

I love making sign-in albums! Here's how it works: After your engagement session we go over what photos you want in your book and I lay it out with negative space on the pages - this allows your guests to have areas of white or black to write their messages on. All sign-in albums are completely customizable with unique questions for your guests to creatively answer.
You will proof all photos that make it into your albums and are printed through Sarah Pukin Photography before printing. That way anything you might want can be done before your products are ordered.
Your session will be provided in an online proofing system (1-2 weeks after your session engagement session & approximately 3 months after your wedding date) where you will be able to see all the photos in a low resolution for fast viewing. From there you will be able to see the file number (located below each photo) all you have to do is fire me off an e-mail with your photo selections. (A list of print pricing is available in your photo cart).
Certainly, feel free to share it with who ever you like!
Yes, your link is available after your contract and retainer are received. All you have to do is ask!
You have 2 weeks to make your final choices from your engagement proofs and 1 months for your wedding - after that your proof gallery will remain online for 1 month incase you feel like ordering more photos - after 30 days a additional charge will be applied to keep your session online. (Please inquire)

Other

Yes, depending on the package you choose your photos will be completely edited and released to you on a USB or digital download, with photographic printing rights. I only release the highest quality as a standard for my brand.
Additional cameras and lenses are brought to assure Sarah is able to shoot all of your moments without delay.
I shoot with all professional equipment. I shoot with 2 camera bodies and multiple lenses, flashes, & studio lighting. I'm a canon girl! My principle camera is a 5D MKII - 21.2 mega pixel, full frame.
I do both artistic and basic effects like film that will stand the test of time. All photos are retouched for colour and clarity and key images are edited artistically. Formals are typically all artistically edited as they are fine art pieces and have more style. You will be provided with a copy of the basic edited photos and the artistic edited photos so you have the choice of what you prefer to print.
When you select your photographer it's important to remember that a professional photographer is more than someone who takes pictures. They capture your memories & tell your individual story that lasts a lifetime. You are investing in photographic art. Each photographer has a different investment to reflect what they feel is appropriate for the type of work they provide you with & the experience they bring to your wedding day. I say let the work speak for itself. It's better to make a decision based on the work then looking at the price tag. What's your style?
If you have less then 5 hours of coverage then a meal is not needed. If it's past 5 hours then I do require a meal as I will be fully dedicated to the event. In my experience people don't like to be photographed while they enjoy their food so I find it's the ideal time for me to eat as well. Please understand if I have an assistant/second shooter with me they will also need a place to sit, and a meal to eat.

Clothing

You should wear what ever makes you feel like a rock star. If you are more into simple and clean then bring simple clothing - if you are a fashionista then bring your most rocking out party dress and high heals. Your photos are all about you and your personality - the essence of you as an individual. If you are doing your session with your partner in crime then a little quordination might be necessary but never lose who you are. Feel free to take a snapshot of your outfit and send it over - I love to give feedback & help you decide! Sarah will provide you with further details on what to wear and examples once your retainer is received.
Depending on the package you choose I suggest bringing 2-3 different outfits & as many accessories as you want – because you never know you might change your mind last Minuit and its best to have options!

Purpose

I definately recommend booking an engagement session. A. It is a blast to walk around with your partner and have images that capture who you are together. B. You get to feel how it is to be in front of a camera in a professional way - it will help you be more comfortable in front of the camera also. These sessions also allow us to get to know each other - after all we will be spending a full day together. I really get the essence of who you are together and it allows me to see how you move and flow together so on your wedding day I might suggest different shots that will work best for you and your partner.

Personal Items

Totally! I have had a few couples that brought vintage suitcases or fancy umbrellas along to use in their photos. Anything goes this is your session. If you want to theme your session you can also do that!

Proofs

You have 30 days to make your final choices from your proofs – after 30 days a additional charge will be applied to keep your session online. Please let Sarah know before your gallery expires.
Engagement photos are ready for viewing 1-2 weeks after your session. A teaser will be posted on my blog a few days after your wedding.

Usage

Certainly, that's a great idea. You can also use them on a personal wedding planning website, your own blog, the thank you gift at your wedding, anything goes.

General

Boudoir is a type of Photography that involves an intimate setting to create passionate images of you. Most commonly you would be wearing lingerie. Having intimate images of your self is a rising trend for today's brides. Many of my clients give an album of the images to their significant other the night before the wedding and sometimes even the morning of.
Well after researching Boudoir photography I realized it is actually incredibly interesting. A Boudoir is defined as a lady's private bedroom, sitting room or dressing room. But its much much more then that. It evolved into a room that was attached or close to a ladies bedroom (bedchamber) where she would bath and dress. Then later on in time it turned into a private drawing room, and a place for the ladies of the 1800's to entertain intimate acquaintances. I think it's fascinating that in the 1800's they had special rooms to romance their hearts desire. Today Boudoir has evolved into a style of photography where women are in intimate settings in their most intimate of expression. Most women today feel having images of them-selves in a Boudoir style is classy and modern. Often Women will keep the images to remember a cretin time in their life or to showcase their inner and external beauty.
Woman who are looking for beautiful images of them-selves. Anyone who wants to give an intimate gift for special occasions. Some of the most popular are for anniversaries, birthdays, and wedding presents, celebrations, and holidays and just for the fun of it.

Boudoir bachlorette group parties

Yes they are called Bachlorette or group parties. These are female only parties for you and your friends. Please inquire in the contact tab for more information about packages. Genrally these sessions are anywhere from 3-6 girls including yourself and range in investments depending on how many friends you woud like to involve. The sessions are still private and include hair and make up.

Scheduling & What To Expect

Sarah accepts cash, cheque & e-mail money transfer. If a cheque is provided there will be a holding period and no material will be given out until the check has been cleared. *All bounced checks are subject to a $50 fee*
A 50% retainer is required to hold your scheduled date and time, this is non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are unable to show up or cancel your session, your retainer is forfeited.
The most common way to schedule a session is to select the "Contact" tab and to complete the form or to call Sarah directly at 403-837-4614. A 50% retainer is required to hold your scheduled date & time, this is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Sarah will provide you with a complete list of suggestions and examples of outfit ideas once your retainer is received and your session is confirmed and booked. Here is a few ideas to get you started: Try to steam or iron all of your outfits prior to your session – I suggest using hangers &/or garment bags to transport your outfits to reduce wrinkling. Remember to wear looser fitting clothing and undergarments before your session so that when arrive you don't have red marks or indents on your skin. Bring outfits that you feel your best in; confidence is key. The better you feel in what you are wearing the better result you will have in your images. If you are getting hair and make up done please make sure to blow dry your hair and moisturize before running out the door – also remember to skip the make up.
You should expect an amazing result. I only use professionals when booking hair and make up artists. In saying that the reason why it is important to use a professional is due to the fact photography lighting has a much different effect on make up then daily wear. Generally there is a different application method and it assures that you will get the best result for photography. About 98% of the woman who come to the studio go with the Seductive collection.
Yes I do, I keep all images tasteful and classy. If you wish to have your full chest shot just ask or let me know. I dont post those images on my website unless I am specifically given permission.
I do not shoot these types of sessions currently - If you are looking for an intimate session with you and your significant other I might be able to suggest someone who can help you better.

Clothing

4 to 5 outfits are recommended but there is no limit. You may want to bring additional options to see what is works best for you that day. Always bring more than you think you need because you never know what you might decide to wear at the last minute. Remember you can easily accessorize your bra and panty outfit with thigh high tights, garter belts, jewelry, robes, etc. You may want to bring something that belongs to your man or woman: his/her jersey, dress shirt, ties, favorite hats, hunting attire, what ever he loves would make a wicked addition to your shoot. Remember to bring lots of accessories and sexy shoes to go with some of your outfits. At the start of the session we will go over what you brought and make the selections together. I will bring my experience in styling to assist you in your choices. If you feel that you made awesome choices then we will put them together and make sure we get them all done! Bring something white and strapless if you are uncomfortable topless for the implied nudity shots.

Privacy

No one other than you, me, and my camera will be there. The make-up and hair artist generally leaves after she finishes making you beautiful. If she does stay she wont be inside the room we will be shooting in.
I respect everyone's personal wishes. Due to the nature of boudoir photography, some images you might not want to share with others and some you might not mind. I always leave it up to you what images your comfortable with me posting on my online portfolio.
You are you and that is beautiful. It is my job as a photographer to figure out the best poses for your body shape and size to insure that the best areas are emphasized and the areas you are not to fond of are deemphasized. If you have an area your not to fond of let me know ahead of time to I can make sure to make you feel the best you possibly can!
