Cheryl & Wade – Festival Hall Wedding Calgary Royal blue meets quirky love
If we could all be as sweet and quirky as these two I think the world would be a better place.
Through the last year and a bit of getting to know Cheryl and Wade I pretty much have been on cloud nine. Genuine doesn’t begin to explain these peoples love for one another. She’s the cherry to his pie, he’s the ketchup to her fry. Yup I make funny puns.
Their engagement photos were nothing but eventful and joyous and a whole lot of inspiring. I had no doubt that their wedding would be just the same.
Walking into hotel Elaine where the girls were getting ready, I was greeted by batman pants wearing a full head flower crown adorned with red blooms and the biggest smile. It was Cheryl. Clearly beyond overjoyed, I shot her details and details they were. Who says you have to wear heels on your wedding day? These flats – oh these flats. I have never seen shoes that made my eyes widen and my heart sing like these bad boys. The sparkle and jewels. MIU MIU does it best! All fun stuff aside my favourite part of her whole getting ready was when she sat down for a little quiet time before revealing her gorgeous bridal look to her papa and read a letter Wade had written her the night before. Her face tells the story better than I ever could – so much so this chick teared up hard.
Heading to their first look on a ridge above the city, Cheryl walked through the greens to Wade. As he turned their faces were smacked with joy and love. Tears and shock. Like gurl can you please stop being so damn cute & Wade really how are you this handsome. Cutie couple much!
These two trust my artistic skills and so we headed to an abandoned car wash, old hotel signs, downtown hidden gems and a antique store (while it rained) and these places did not disappoint.
Before we knew it the ceremony was next. As their family and friends sat quietly, Wade and Cheryl shared lovely words and joy with one another and oh some laughter. The reception was as hilarious as a reception could be. People making loud monkey noises as they entered and cow bells rang throughout the night – even a festive pineapple serving tier thing showed up to much of their excitement.
By the end of the night I surprised Wade with a few smoke bombs and as he ran around in delight spewing out coloured smoke Cheryl stood still for what we are now referring to as their band cover photos. Make sure to check them out at the end of the post!
