How do I book my session?
All you need to do is fill out the contact form, in the contact tab. Let me know if you’re wanting your session to be in Calgary, Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Emerald Lake, Field, Jasper or somewhere else. I will send you current package options for you to choose from and than once you select a date/time for your photo shoot I will book you in!
A 50% retainer to hold your session date and time will be required via e-mail money transfer, cash or check!
Your remainder is due 2 weeks before your session.
What is required to book my session?
I requires a 50% retainer once you choose a session date and time. The final 50% is due 2 weeks before your session.
How far in advance should we book you for our session?
Depending on the specifics of your session I suggest 3-4 weeks minimum if you have a tight schedule I books on a first come first book basis. I am unable to guarantee your session date unless your retainer has been received. Please note it takes 6 - 8 weeks for your photos to be edited and back to you after you submit your order during "wedding season" (June - September).
Sessions are shot Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays at different start times based on what time sunset is that day - if you are unable to make one of those days work please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate you!
What forms of payment options are there?
Sarah accepts cash, cheque & e-mail money transfer. If a cheque is provided there will be a holding period and no material will be given out until the check has been cleared. *All bounced checks are subject to a $50 admin fee*
Payment policy
A 50% retainer is required to hold your scheduled date and time, this is non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are unable to show up or cancel your session, your retainer is forfeited. If you cancel after your payment is made in full the remaining balance is also forfeited and is none refundable.
If you give 90 days advanced notice of needing to reschedule a $300 rescheduling fee will apply for one time.
Do we get a discount if we book our session with our Wedding package?
Engagement sessions are 50% off when added to a Wedding Collection at the of booking.

How many outfits should I bring?
Depending on the package you choose I suggest bringing 1 to 2 different outfits & as many accessories as you want – because of how I shoot you might get dirty or the sky might decide to rain on you - having a back up options is always a good idea!
Where do you recommend taking the photos?
It depends on your individual style, the location will be fit to match. We will discuss your locations when you book your coverage. Because I have been shooting in Calgary for over 18 years I know a variety of different locations both indoors and outdoors. I constantly seeking out different locations to complement your unique style and preference.
Can we have more then one location for our photos?
Yes! If time allows you can have as many as you want (within the city limits) Outside the city limits there is an additional charge for mileage.
Do you travel?
Yes!! I love to travel. I have been all over the world! Feel free to inquire on the specifics of international/destination sessions.
Do you ever do destination sessions? If so then is there anyway you would do a marathon with friends of ours?
I love to do destination sessions. If you want to split the travel cost with another couple that is totally fine! Make arrangements with the couple and then contact me to arrange the scheduling of your sessions.
What is the purpose of an engagement shoot?
I definitely recommend booking an engagement session.
A. It is a blast to walk around with your partner and have images that capture who you are together.
B. You get to feel how it is to be in front of a camera in a professional way - it will also help you be more comfortable in front of the camera come your Wedding day.
These sessions also allow us to get to know each other - after all we will be spending a full day together.
I really get the essence of who you are together and it allows me to see how you move and flow together so on your wedding day I might suggest different shots that will work best for you and your partner.
What should we bring? Do couples use their own props?
Don't worry about bringing anything - becasue of how I shoot I suggest having back up outfits in the car but other than that the only thing I suggest bringing would be your pet! We walk around and everytime I see an amazing sport we stop and shoot - if you are lugging items around with you it makes it harder to capture the organic nature of your connection.
How long will my proofs be online for?
You have 30 days to make your final choices from your proofs – after 30 days a additional charge will be applied to keep your session online. Please let me know before your gallery expires.
When are the images ready for viewing?
Engagement photos are ready for viewing 2-3 weeks after your session. A teaser will be posted on my blog or on insta a few days after your photo shoot!
Can we use the photos on our wedding invites?
Certainly, that's a great idea. You can also use them on a personal wedding planning website, your own blog, the thank you gift at your wedding, anything goes. Just make sure to tag and credit me, not crop or change the images in any way and ill give you a big high-five!

We are looking for a guest sign-in album with our engagement photos, do you do that?
I love making sign-in albums! Here's how it works: After your engagement session we go over what photos you want in your book and I lay it out with negative space on the pages - this allows your guests to have areas to write their messages on. All sign-in albums are completely customizable with unique questions for your guests to creatively answer.
Do we get to see the final photos before they are printed?
You will proof all photos that make it into your albums and are printed through Sarah Pukin Photography before they are submitted to my lab for printing. That way anything you might want to change can be done before your heirlooms are ordered.
How do I order prints & albums???
Your session will be provided to you via an online proofing gallery (2 weeks after your session engagement session & approximately 3 months after your wedding date) where you will be able to see all the photos in a low resolution for fast viewing. From there you will be able to order prints, cavases, metal prints and albums/books.
Can we send the link to our friends and family so they can look and order prints if they want?
Certainly, feel free to share it with who ever you like!
