Describe what your day was like: I expected to feel stressed and anxious, but the day ended up being completely relaxing. I went to get my hair done with my mom and friend Katie in the morning. We drank coffee and chatted like any other day. Next I got my make-up done, and before I knew it, we were heading to the Lougheed House. Waiting for the ceremony to begin felt like torture! I couldn’t wait to see Dorian. I didn’t feel nervous, just extremely excited. After I had walked down the aisle and the ceremony began, I felt a calm come over me. There was nowhere else I would rather be! The rest of the evening was fun. We had a great time with Sarah doing photos, and at the reception catching up with family and friends. It was the perfect day!

What was the best thing about your day? For me, the ceremony was the highlight. Seeing Dorian standing there looking incredibly handsome, a big smile on his face. I have been looking forward to that moment my entire life. The vows were especially meaningful to us. It was the only part that brought me to tears. Dorian’s favorite part of the ceremony was the kiss, and I would have to agree!

What surprised you the most? I was surprised by how fast the day went. Friends warned me that would be the case, but it really went by too quick.

What will you remember the most from your wedding? Walking down the aisle was such an important moment, and I will cherish the memory forever. Our parents gave meaningful speeches at the reception. I don’t remember all the words, but I won’t ever forget the love radiating from them. They were incredible throughout the whole wedding process. Having all of the most important people to us in one room to celebrate our union felt like a wonderful bonus. Looking around at all their smiling and laughing faces brought us so much joy.

If you could give one tip to someone getting married what would it be? Don’t do everything yourself! Even small weddings are a TON of work. Get friends to help, and hire people whenever possible.

What was the theme for your wedding? Four words: vintage, 1950’s, romantic, fun Testimonial! We had so much fun working with you Sarah! It felt like you were a friend, and not just someone we hired! We wish we had had more time to take photos with you. We were impressed with your attitude and your professionalism.

Below is one of my favorite images of all time! I just love Kathryns expression.
