We already did an engagement session and don't want to do another one, is that a problem?
I completely understand you might have already done an engagement session and not to keen on doing another. I am passionate about the importance of getting to know you and your fiance as a couple. I take the time during your session to observe how you connect with your fiance. How you two show love and what you think is funny and not. I use this experience to provoke real emotion on your wedding day that isn't forced or awkward.
How far in advance should we do our Engagement session before our wedding?
I suggest to do your engagement session around three months before your wedding. Most couples purchase guest books with their engagement photos - doing your session three months in advance allows enough time for album creation as well as keeping the experience fresh in your mind for your wedding day.
What forms of payment options are there?
I accepts cash, cheque & e-mail money transfer.
*All bounced checks are subject to a $50 admin fee*
Payment policy
A 50% retainer is required to hold your scheduled date and time, this is non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are unable to show up or cancel your session/wedding, your retainer is forfeited. Any pre-payment plans are also non-refundable.
Should we do an engagement session?
Yes! I would love to get to know you on a more personal level. I want you to naturally and organically see how you vibe together - see your connection and how you show your affection to one another. Beyond that it's the perfect opportunity for me to see what you like - the angles and moments you pick from your online gallery will be a great indication of what I will create on your wedding day - especially if anything runs late and you have less time for your connection photos!
We love the idea of a Photo Booth, Do you provide this service?
I have an open air photo booth you can add to any collection for an additional investment.
What is an open air Photo Booth?
An open air photo booth means you can get more guests into the images. I provides the backdrop (including an independent stand to hold up the backdrop) to complement your wedding style and colours as well as a full set of props, an attendant to show your guests how to use the booth or to simply press the shutter for those guests who need to use both their hands - Studio style lighting is also provided. After your wedding your provided with an online password protected gallery for all of your guests to download the images from. Best wedding favor ever!
How do I book my Wedding?
All you need to do is fill out the consultation form, fire me an e-mail or give me a call (403-837-4614) to set up a time to meet in person or over the phone - we will discuss details of your day and get to know one another (hours of coverage, location of your wedding, specifics on photos & locations, the style of your wedding & any other questions you might have for me). After I will send you the contract to fill out. I require a 50% retainer to reserve your day. Wedding season books up fast to don't wait to long to get in touch.
*please note I only take on a limited number of weddings each year so don't hesitate to get in touch to book your date!
What is required when booking?
To book your wedding date I requires 50% of your collection as a retainer payment along with your signed contract. The final 50% is due 16 days before your wedding.
How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?
Depending on the details of your wedding (is it on a long weekend?) it is suggested to book as soon as you have set the date & know the amount of coverage you will need (on average couples book Sarah approximately 6 months to 2 years prior to their wedding date). Due to the nature of wedding season I books on a first come first booking basis. Although I would love to shoot your wedding I can't hold your date until your retainer has been received.
Elopements are generally booked 1 week to a year in advance.
Where are you located?
Calgary, AB, Canada! Eh!
The Studio is located in the South East of Calgary, AB.
If you know where the 22x and deerfoot south meet your just around the corner.
I am available for travel anywhere in the world & love destination weddings!
Where do you recommend taking the photos?
It depends on your individual style, the location will be fit to match. We will discuss your locations when you book your coverage. Because I have been shooting in Calgary and the Mountains for over 17 years I knows a variety of different locations both indoors and outdoors. I am constantly seeking out different locations that inspire me.
I also have a Boudoir studio located in Calgary, AB.
Where do the formal couples photos take place?
Depending on your individual style the location will be fit to match. We will discuss your formal locations when you book your coverage.
A lot of my couples want to be more adventurous for formals but it isn't necessary!
Can we have more then one location for our photos?
Yes! If time allows you can have as many as you want.
Do you travel?
Yes!! I love to travel. I have been all over the world! Feel free to inquire on the specifics of international & destination wedding investment. My favourite elopement was in St. Lucia - sun, sand, a rain-forest. What more could you want?
Do you ever do destination weddings/sessions?
I love to do destination sessions & weddings. Don't hesitate to reach out!
We are looking for a guest book with our engagement photos, do you do that?
I love making sign-in albums! Here's how it works: After your engagement session we go over what photos you want in your book and I lay it out with negative space on the pages - this allows your guests to have areas to write their messages on. All sign-in albums are completely customizable with unique questions for your guests to creatively answer.
Do we get to see the final photos before they are printed?
You will proof all photos that make it into your albums and are printed through Sarah Pukin Photography before they are submitted to my lab for printing. That way anything you might want to change can be done before your heirlooms are ordered.
How do I order prints & albums???
Your session will be provided to you via an online proofing gallery (2-3 weeks after your session engagement session & approximately 3 months after your wedding date) where you will be able to see all the photos in a low resolution for fast viewing. From there you will be able to order prints, cavases, metal prints and albums/books.
Can we send the link to our friends and family so they can look and order prints if they want?
Certainly, feel free to share it with who ever you like!

Do we get the high-resolution files?
Yes, depending on the package you choose your photos will be completely edited and released to you via digital download, with photographic printing rights. I only release the highest quality as a standard for my brand.
Do you bring back-up equipment?
Additional cameras and lenses are brought to assure I am able to shoot all of your moments without delay.
Will my photos be edited?
Yes, I only release edited photos.
I edit my photos the same for everyone - so you know what you will receive. Consistency is key!
All my wedding photos are retouched for colour, clarity and key images are edited artistically.
Formals are typically all artistically edited as they are fine art pieces and have more jazzy to them.
Your photos will be timeless so in 30 years you don't look back and face palm!
What are we investing in?
When you select your photographer it's important to remember that a professional photographer is more than someone who takes pictures.
They capture your memories & tell your individual story that lasts the rest of your lifetime.
You are investing in photographic art and experience.
Each photographer has a different investment to reflect what they feel is appropriate for the type of work they provide you with & the experience they bring to your wedding day.
I say let the work speak for itself but with the new age of insta and the fact some photographers use workshop/fake weddings as their portfolio its important to do your research.
Also elements that are important and in my opinion make a difference in your final photos and experience on your wedding day with me would be:
1. This is my full time career! I am fully dedicated to my art and business.
2. I have full business insurance and liability insurance?
3. I have a solid system in place for backing up and keeping your images safe before they are delivered to you.
4. I have countless experience in situations such as: fast unexpected weather changes, lighting, excreta.
5. My style has been defined over 17 years so you know what your photos will look like in the end.
6. I know when to give direction and have no issues doing so! Rowdy wedding party only 20 minuets to get formal photos with them done? No problem!
In the end the thing that matters most is that you have no regrets when it comes to your wedding photos. So invest in whats important to you!
Do you require a meal?
Yes please! If you have reception coverage or a Brunch wedding I will require a place to sit and the same meal as your guests! If you have added on a second shooter or assistant to your package they will also need some grub!
