Calgary self love Boudoir Photographer – Sarah Pukin

I absolutely love that this boudoir babe signed a partial release so I could share some of her images with you, also so I could share her words, experience and insights.

Feedback is important to me and I think it’s important to read about someone else’s experience when you’re trying to make an investment in an experience yourself.

Often I am asked, well more like told that Boudoir and intimate portraits are for younger women. In fact, that is completely false. There isn’t an age cut off for loving yourself and wanting to feel empowered and beautiful.

This isn’t a club for a specific type of woman. This really is for everyone.

Boudoir, self love portraiture, intimate portraits, whatever you want to call them means embracing your own body, your own shape and size and your own femininity and empowering it.

These things don’t start or stop at an adult age. Yes you do have to be over 18+ at my studio because well the photos are spicy and adult in nature. But I am proud of how my photos make people feel.

If you have ever wondered what you would feel like doing a Calgary self love boudoir session, have a read below of her beautiful words and insight.

In her words

What was your favourite part of your Boudoir session?

Everything!

Why did you decide to do a Boudoir session?

My Husband actually suggested that I do a Boudoir session.   I was hesitant (outside my comfort zone) but decided to do it as his Christmas gift.

Have you ever done a Calgary self love Boudoir session before?

First time ever doing something like this…but I’d do it again!

What was your favourite outfit choice and why?!

Hmmm, that’s a tough one.   I would say the green bodysuit – I love the colour! .   But after seeing the images, I think I might have to go with the black bra and panties!

Why did you choose me to shoot your Calgary self love Boudoir session?

We found Sarah through our Wedding venue and she photographed our Wedding in Banff last year.  My Husband was checking out her website and noticed she also did Boudoir sessions in addition to Weddings and suggested I do one…and that’s how it started!

If you could give anyone advice on why they should do an Intimate portraits Boudoir session what would it be?

I did the session as a gift for my Husband…and he was beyond happy with the album!

What I didn’t anticipate was how I would feel when I saw the images.

Sure, I have wrinkles, rolls, scars and cellulite, but when I sat down with Sarah to review the proofs, I was blown away – I felt beautiful and sexy .

This ended up being a very personal experience for me.

Why should you consider a Boudoir photo shoot?

To find and release your Inner Goddess! We all have one – just sometimes she’s buried deep as a result of the business of our day to day lives.   And we all deserve to feel beautiful and sexy in our own skin!

Kind words:

I’ll be honest, this was far outside my comfort zone as a 50+ year old woman. But, from the moment you walk through the door, Sarah makes you feel very comfortable as she explains how the session will go. She will show you how to pose, where to look, etc., and the session will fly by!

The hardest part is narrowing down and selecting the photos for your album :) .

This was a very personal experience for me.

I had looked at Sarah’s Instagram and webpages and ALL of the woman are SO beautiful. As women, we are our own worst critics and we tend to compare ourselves to others and feel like we don’t measure up (or maybe that’s just me).

But we are all beautiful and should be celebrated…and Sarah has a talent for capturing each woman’s beauty and showcasing it back to her. Thanks Sarah!
