Intimate Creekside Villa Wedding in Canmore, Alberta.

Intimate, relaxed and low key Wedding in Canmore at Creekside Villa.

There is absolutely nothing like photographing a Creekside Villa Wedding in Canmore.

From the bright blue skies to endless mountain ranges Canmore kind of has it all. And Creekside Villa is nestled on the North side of Canmore away from the hustle and bustle of the Town Centre.

Allowing it to be super intimate and give you the feeling of seclusion but still having that beautiful mountain wedding. It was perfect for Tammy and Leons 25 person shindig-o-love.

Intimate and secluded

Especially when the sun is setting and my couple and I run across the street for a few photos with the moon like Tammy and Leon did to cap off their evening.

Creekside Villa in Canmore is a really beautiful all in one Wedding Venue – They supply the rooms, onsite Ceremony area and literally the cutest reception space for an intimate Wedding.

The thing about venues where everything is at one place that I really love is that you never have to worry about being late (that’s always the biggest stresses for my couples – traffic in the mountains is real and very unpredictable).

Favourite moment

My favourite thing about Tammy and Leons day was the fact the did everything together – from hanging out while hair and make up by Sam from Lillies and Lace Beauty Co was done to Leon helping Tammy zip up her dress to Tammy fixing Leons Tie – everything was about them spending time together.

Ceremony time

Before I knew it they were ready and the Ceremony actually started early! I couldn’t believe it – in my 18+ years as a Wedding Photographer I can’t recall a time where a Ceremony could start this early – because their friends and family were at the villa and they were all hanging out waiting for the Ceremony and surprisingly Tammy and Leon finished getting ready much faster than anticipated they were ready for it!

The best part I have to say about the Ceremony was when they walked down the aisle and their guests popped off confetti! I have always wanted to photograph a big confetti pop but usually they aren’t allowed in the mountains so this was an absolute treat! (Shout out the venue for literally using vacuums to suck up all the confetti and their hard work to make T + L’s vision come to life!!)

Portraits

If you have been reading my blogs you will know I absolutely love couples photos – sneaking away taking some photos that show off your unique connection and love.

When I tell you I gasped when I saw the light spilling through the trees in the forest we did their couples photos in I couldn’t have asked the world for a better moment.

It felt surreal how beautiful nature is and the way light supplies the mood for a moment is just truly something I won’t ever get over.

PS when we came back from couples photos the venue was still sucking up confetti! When you see the photo I think it was worth it and they are so amazing to do that because I’m a big advocate of leaving no trace!

Reception time

The reception followed a very chill cocktail hour – the florals were magical – my eyes always open wide when I see beautiful florals and man let me tell you when you see them you will also think they are stunning! I can guarantee it!

Lets talk cake

When I tell you Kake by Darci knocks it out the park every time this is a truth! I swear all the Weddings I photograph in the mountains always have one of her amazing creations. The white on white with delicate florals were beyond beautiful. I am always amazed at what she does with cake and I am always super excited to shoot cake cuttings because they are always so beautiful with her creations!!!
