Lindsay and Heather – Charbar Restaurant Wedding in Calgary.
This post is all about Lindsay and Heather’s Charbar Restaurant Wedding in Calgary!
There is nothing like a May Wedding to kick off Wedding season. Watching a group of your closest friends and family sit around amongst your love just to support your relationship is so incredibly heart warming and meaningful. The great thing about having your Wedding at Charbar Restaurant in Calgary is the overall vibe you get from it. The urban makeover of the former mattress factory keeps the old beautiful elements and adds to them without taking away. The space itself is so wonderful and just perfect for a Wedding. I can definitely see why Lindsay & Heather fell in love with the space and the people at Charbar.
Lindsay and Heather spent their day in a non-traditional way. Arriving early for their first look, I made my way up the elevator to the 13th floor – luckily I missed the elevator breaking down as another Wedding got stuck and had to take the stairs! After a quick peek at the space I headed over to Heather’s room to meet her and take her up to the spot where Lindsay would be meeting us. The wind blew as Heather held back tears of joy when she turned around to see Lindsay for the first time. Me being the baby I am cried more than they did. Go figure. #sorrynotsorry
After cuddles, kisses and sweet words were whispered we headed over to a local antique store for their formals. These ladies skipped the Wedding party but brought along some amazing friends to hang out with us as we shot their couples photos.
The store is all the right kind of charming and a mix of the old with the new so it perfectly complimented the rest of their day.
Everyone was sitting in Charbar twisting to look over their shoulders to get a glimpse of the brides as they were about to come down the aisle.
Emotional me over here shot with excitement as they walked down the aisle with their parents – seeing Lindsay’s face as Heather walked towards her got me right in the heart strings.
As they shared their love-notes with one another they sealed their ceremony with a kiss and followed it up with one hell of a taco bar, bourbon and wonderful words shared by their friends and family. The night topped off with their first dance followed by father-daughter dances and everyone hitting the dance floor.
It was the perfect day to start my Wedding season and the perfect people to share in their day-o-love with.
Can’t wait for more of these amazing moments to document and share with everyone! Thanks Heather & Lindsay for being such a pleasure to photograph! You are both wonderful and I couldn’t have thought of a better way to celebrate your love than how you did it!
