Romantic Winter Wedding at Azuridge Estate Hotel – Sarah Pukin

February 8, 2023

Romantic Winter Wedding at Azuridge Estate Hotel.

Winter Wedding Venue Azuridge Estate Hotel.

Stop – this is literally the most romantic Winter Wedding at Azuridge Estate Hotel you might ever see!

Finding the perfect location to tie the knot is one of the hardest parts of Wedding planning, but Michelle and Josh outdid themselves.

Our day was going to start at their first look – but arriving extremely early because the roads were not on their best behaviour I got to meet Michelle for the first time while she was getting a last few touch ups on her make up!

After considerable thought we decided that Michelle definitely wear her hiking boots for first look and couples photos with Josh because the grounds of Azuridge were decorated with snow! Lucky for them the staff shovelled the path for their First Look!

When Michelle walked up behind Josh and I could see her emotion I couldn’t stop myself – I’m just a sap. I cried probably more than these two did!

I can’t express what it’s like to see how Josh looks at Michelle – they have such a unique connection and respect for one another. Furthermore feel lucky to have met them and captured their day.

There ceremony was indoors at Azuridge Estate Hotel in the Celestite Room; they chose to say I do inside and the room felt like a real life snow globe.

Josh has two amazing boys who although slightly shy have the best laugh ever. I say this because they were such gems during the ceremony. They were amazing groomsmen!

Winter Weddings are some of my favourite. Something about red noses and being extra cuddly or a warm fire roaring in the Room – it just adds a romantic touch to the day.

When their planner Moments By Madeleine finished setting up their Reception in the Carnelian Room my jaw actually dropped! It was stunning. Trust me you will see when you scroll down! The florals by Flowers by Janie obviously were to die for as they always are! The way all the elements came together was totally perfect and set a cozy warm atmosphere for the evening.

When Michelle and Josh got a peek at the reception space I snapped a few shots of them seeing it for the first time and I honestly can’t imagine how they felt because there was a flood of emotions!

After Cocktail Hour they danced into their Reception for an amazing night with their friends and family!

From the Bride and Groom

Kind words:
“Sarah, it was so much fun working with you on our wedding shoot! You helped me get out of my comfort zone (like really out of it in -20 without a coat) but I’m so glad you did because the photos looked incredible! You were able to capture the love Josh and I had for each other, as well as the sentiment of our friends and family through candid photos and moments that made us smile when we got the pictures back. You also took some amazing photos of our dog Monty that we will treasure forever – thank you so much for that.”

Wedding theme and colors:

With a November wedding, we wanted to bridge the gap between fall and winter, and this theme took hold early on, informing everything from the color pallet we chose, to the textures of our napkins. We wanted to incorporate a warmth to the venue, from the linens, to the flowers. We had amazing toffees, peaches, blushes to remind us of fall, and then whites and deep burgundies and lots of greenery to link it to winter – I was super happy with the result – it was beautiful.

Approximate number of guests: 52

Vibe:
With Azuridge as our backdrop, (booking the venue was the first thing we did!) we wanted the theme to be very elegant, and naturally rustic.

Top 3 best moments:
Waking up the morning of the wedding with so much snow! we were in a snowglobe! added to the magic.

Saying “i do” to the love of my life in front of our friends and family and our two sons – after covid, it was so great getting all of our friends and families together to celebrate.

Having our dog Monty be part of the wedding was a huge highlight for us – he was quite old and we weren’t sure he’d make it, so having him there was such a gift, especially now since we’ve since lost him :( But dang, did he look good in his tux or what?

Wedding song, explain choice for song:

We chose “True Companion” by mark cohen for our wedding song as we both love the song so much and always wanted that even before we met each other – it was a pretty unanimous decision to go with it. We also chose “You’re the inspiration” by Chicago for the next song – because it’s an amazing song and was our second choice :)

If you could own any animal as a pet what would it be and why?
Dogs all day long. Honestly, the best friend you can ever have. They have such capacity for love and are the best companions!
