Tina and Keegan’s Wedding at The Malcolm Hotel Canmore was the perfect day with a mix of stormy and windy weather. On my way to Canmore, I was really excited to see Tina and Keegan, as I hadn’t seen them since the winter before, when we met at Emerald Lake for their engagement photos.
I arrived at the Malcolm Hotel to the guys’ room where they were all dying of laughter trying to figure out how to put on suspenders and fill up flasks for the day! Keegan and his brother headed to an empty room so Keegan could get ready before heading to our first look location. After figuring out that the guys were playing a game where they had to do push-ups, I knew this day was going to beyond fun!
Leaving Keegan with the guys, I headed over to the Blackstone Mountain Lodge to meet the girls. As Tina stepped into her dress, her eyes lit up. Something about how gorgeous her eyes were just made my jaw drop! They are such a bright blue, and since she has dark hair they pop instantly! You will see what I mean when you check out their day-o-love.
Just before we were about to do their first look, I found out that Keegan’s best man was going to play a little trick on him. He had borrowed a wedding dress and veil (luckily with a coresetted back) and was going to walk down the winding path to prank Keegan for their “first look.” Tina patiently waited in the limo as I placed Keegan at the end of the pathway. As his best man walked up behind him, I fought hard to keep my composure and told him “she” was almost there. I could feel his nerves and excitement to see his bride, while unbeknownst to him, he turned around to find not his bride but his best man – and the reaction was priceless! After the guys’ “first look,” I got them to take a few cute portraits together before we reset and I went to get Tina.
Therefore think he was still in a little bit of shock as she walked down the path to him. I LOVE their surprise first look, but the real one between Keegan and Tina really punched me right in the heart. I can’t ever explain enough how beautiful it is for me to be the fly on the wall when I capture these moments. Just thinking about it now makes me tear up. Why am I such a hopeless romantic guys?!
After the sweetness that was their first look, they both started laughing over the *first* first look, and then we headed to go meet the limo and go off for their adventure couples photos.
They climbed boulders, hiked up mossy trails, and adventured through the thick forest. Hugs, snuggles, smooches and super GQ moments happened up in those trees – not to mention they almost got blown off the mountain by the crazy wind! It seems Canmore was extremely windy this year.
After we finished photos we met with their wedding party at the park for group shots and silly moments before heading to the ceremony.
Due to some road closures, we needed to do a few more photos after the ceremony with the wedding party, and I am so happy we did because everyone had so much energy and excitement after the ceremony! I love all the moments from their day!
To top the night off, this couple shared a secret handshake at their grand entrance into the Malcolm Hotel for their super stunning, elegant reception. The night was full of love and a few pull-ups to make the couple kiss!
Also I hav to give a massive shout-out to Lisa from Everlasting Impressions – she and her team are seriously some of the best wedding planners I have had the pleasure of working with. The reception was so gorgeous in Canmore’s newest wedding venue and hotel. She really transformed the room into a stunning wedding reception not to mention how gorgeous their ceremony was laid out!
